TROPHOS SEEKS PARTNERS FOR DARPA DEEPSEA OPERATIONS SOLICITATION

DARPA - Deep Sea Operations (DSOP)

Solicitation Number: DARPA-BAA-10-20

Ocean sensor specialists at the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in Arlington, Va., are asking the defense industry for revolutionary advances in extremely deep-operating undersea surveillance systems to protect U.S. Navy aircraft carriers and their support vessels from quiet enemy attack submarines.

Trophos Energy is seeking collaboration and partnership with organizations looking to submit a proposal to DARPA- BAA-10-20 solicitation. Trophos Energy has developed capabilities in the system design, rapid prototype engineering and field demonstration of highly innovative, multi-modal energy harvesting technologies. We offer power solutions for use in a range of remote marine applications. Using testing facilities at our HQ in Somerville, MA and with partners at MBARI (Monteray Bay Aquarium Research Institute), existing technology platforms have been field tested from 30 to >3000ft.

As a partner on DARPA DSOP BAA-10-20, Trophos Energy can be engaged to develop a highly innovative environmental energy harvesting system and power management platform for a turnkey concept proposal. Our multi-modal energy harvesting and power management systems can be designed as long-term, static, in-situ devices installed at the marine sediment-seawater interface. Alternatively we can develop bio-electrochemical batteries for use in short term mobile situations.

Depending upon your application need and physical size constraints, our multi-modal energy harvesting systems may operate as a standalone power source, or alternatively it may offer a novel solution for offsetting quiescent power needs, significantly extending operational capabilities.
